Any habit takes time to develop and especially those habits which improve our life. Habit means a change from something to somewhere in life. Most people give up some days because lots of reasons include myths about the study habit development process. In December 2019, I went to one school for a talk, and I asked the students how many days were required to develop study habits or How to develop study habits. Some of the answers were 21 days to take for a study habit development or any new habit. Most of the students don’t know about time and study habit development. So I asked those students who raised hands-on 21 days and asked them to tell me how they modify 21 days and have tried this 21 days formula or not. Again I received negative answers from students.
Conclusion: – Most of the students don’t have answers about study habit development. Most of the students don’t know how to set a routine. Students need a perfect plan and principle so that they can develop study habits. Here, I teach you the most creative ways so that any student can develop study habits. First, students need to understand three simple questions.
1) What is the meaning of study habits?
2) Why do I need to learn study habits?
3) How can I develop study habits?
Most students think is study habits developing is a big task. Reading is an art, and this art makes your life inspirational along with your gaining knowledge. In 21 days to make a perfect study habit, but this is a myth. Developing new study habit student must need 66 days. In 66 days, students need consistency, patience, and discipline. I have one more option, and we called it 20 hours rule.
1) 20 hours rules
If you want to develop study habits, then you must follow this rule. That is an easy way to build a study tool for academic success. Now the question is, why do students need this easy tool? Students want academic success, but students don’t have a proper system. Students need time to develop study tools, and here we help students for developing study habits. Students need to focus on just 30 days. Every day students need to give just 45 min to study. Most of the students give up because of a lack of focus and fear of failure. Here I will teach you how students should develop consistency in life.
2) Real Game of success
Self-Control, Self-motivation, and Follow-up. These are three pillars helping students develop study skills. Students need a strong mindset for this activity.
1) Self-control
How many thoughts in a day are caught in our minds? Positive and negative thoughts make an equal distraction. Here I have one small exercise for everyone. Take one page and write which time you distract with the exact time, reason, and how you feel when you distract. When you distract with thought at that time, write your thinking above order. This exercise helps you control your thoughts. We humans can’t stop thinking because thoughts are far away from our consciousness. The above activity helps you for developing self-observation skills. If you learn self-observation, then it’s easy for you to learn self-control. In just 15 days if you do the above exercise, you see improvement in yourself.
2) Self-motivation
Don’t fall into the wrong motivation trap. So many motivation stories are available on the digital platform. Motivation is necessary to boost up physically and mentally. Students need to develop this motivation inside. But how? First, understand the meaning of self-motivation. Make yourself 1% better every day. Students need to try to do something for themselves. Every student is unique to themselves. Ask yourself this five-question, and this question brings you to the next level of self-motivation.
- Why am I studying?
- Why am I not achieving good results?
- Why am I not Rethinking my future?
- Why am I not willing to do every day new in my life?
- Why am I not a good learner?
Five-question asks yourself and finds out the answers.
3) Follow-up
In a student’s life, follow-up is the necessary part. Every day students learn something good or bad, so students need to take a simple follow-up. Students need to take two follow-ups every day.
After completing school
Write only two lines per follow-up. Like what you learned in school, which subject you learn today well or which subject did not, what you learned new in school, etc. When students complete school and return home, that time takes follow-up in this order.
After completing 45 min practice
Write follow-up in this order. Like what you learned in 45 min, what type of thoughts are passing in 45 min, and which subject problem did you solve today?
3) Make a timetable and action plan
Make a timetable for one month without any holiday. Now, carefully understand this plan and take a page and pen do what I say. Take a page and write the heading (30 days timetable). Now, draw four lines on a page.
1) DATE
2) Subject
3) Exact problem
4) Exact solution
I have given you a simple picture, and you just need to design your timetable accordingly. Remember you can’t take a single holiday. Just allow yourself to work 30 days consistently in 45 min. In these 45 min, you need to solve your academic problems. When you start this practice within one week, you tried, or your thoughts are out of control, but remember the three pillars of success. Some rules which must you need to follow in 45 min time
- Don’t drink water when you use 45 min
- Make every day the same 45 min the same time
- Turn off your self-phone just 45 min
- Fixed your reading corner
- Solve one subject problem one day, don’t mix two subjects in one day (45 min)
Follow these simple basic rules, and then write your follow-up. Every day a small try through student can develop study habit. After 30 days, you finally achieve your 20 hours principle.
